The 40th Ube Ekiden Road Relay Race, FM Kirara Cup, was held with the special sponsorship of UBE. In 2006, UBE took over the special sponsorship of the race from the former Meiwa Chemical, now integrated into the UBE Group, to carry on their intentions and support the event. UBE Group employees and their families also participated on the day of the event.
